A Wee Back Story

I was prescribed vision glasses when I was in the 1st grade.  I wore them for a few years but eventually stopped. I can say with certainty that I did not wear glasses later than the 5th grade.

Fast forward 25 or so years. I was sitting in a coffee shop trying to read a book. I barely got past the first page before everything went blurry. I was reminded why I didn’t like reading and hadn’t read a full book since I got out of the service. My vision was shot!

I immediately booked an appointment with the optometrist a few blocks from the shop where I was sitting. Two weeks later I had a slick pair of reading glasses with wireframes and slightly tinted blue lenses. I was ready to read some words!

Three weeks later my vision went blurry while wearing my fresh $200 readers.

I stopped by a friend’s house later that week and told him what had happened and how frustrated I was. He asked me to follow him to the kitchen door where a string of beads had been hanging for the several years I had known him.

“Do you know what these are?” He asked. I told him that I didn’t and he proceeded to explain and then demonstrate.

I took the beads home as he requested I try them out.

One end of the string of beads attached to the wall and the other end I held to the tip of my nose. I switched my visual focus between the different beads quickly as if doing reps. I followed his instructions. I still follow his instructions 6 years later.

The Result!

I don’t need glasses! My vision is clear! I can read ALL DAY!

Ok. I don’t like reading that much, but I am a software engineer and do have to look at a screen for at least 7 hours a day.

No contacts. No glasses. No strained eyeballs.

Also, if your eyes do get a little tired from staring at a page, screen, or road… you can exercise the eyes a bit like shaking your arm if you hold something for too long.

You Can Exercise Your Eyes!

And it’s awesome!
